Wheat Free, Nut Free, Sugar Free
If you want to know what ingredients and flavours are really in your crackers, biscuits and savoury snacks why not make your own?
These oat cakes are made with Red Tractor Oats, Hemp Seeds and Golden Flax Seeds, which helps to make them delicious, wholesome and full of protein, fibre and healthy fats like omega 3 & 6 (no trans fats here!)
125g Red Tractor Baking Oats
2tbsp Red Tractor Hemp Seeds
2 tbsp Red Tractor Brown Flax Seeds
2 tbsp Pumpkin Seeds
60g Butter, softened
2tsp Mixed Herbs
20g Parmesan Cheese, finely grated
Sea salt and Pepper
Preheat fan forced oven to 180°C. Place the Red Tractor Baking Oats in a food processor until it makes a course flour consistency. Then add the seeds and pulse to roughly chop them.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, and mix well. Add 40-60mls of water until the ingredients come together as a dough.
Get 2 sheets of greaseproof paper and flatten the mix between the sheets, roll with a rolling pin until the mix between the sheets in 2-3mm thick. Remove the top sheet of greaseproof paper and use a 5cm diameter cookie cutter. The remaining dough can be rolled out again and then cut the rest. You should get roughly 24 oats cakes. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool, then store in an airtight container for up to a week. Serve with a cheese platter, your favourite dips or as a savoury biscuit.
